It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I’ve gotten overwhelming requests for new 300 Cinnamon Buns posts! OK. I’ve gotten one request for a new post… from my mom.
Nevertheless! We soldier on.
Our goods from the US finally arrived. Along the theme that moving always sucks, our stuff was three months late. The moving company kept giving us a new date every time we asked when they were supposed to arrive. They kept saying the delays were “through no fault of ours”. You know Covid and messed up supply chains.
Here was some of the work in progress:
Of course we packed every single stuffed animal the Cinnamon Sticks owned:
We were pleasantly surprised when our stuff got here, that we actually did appreciate having many of our old things on hand. They certainly do make our new apartment feel more like home. No sooner did I think that and I was again irritated it took so long for our stuff to arrive.
Here are the girls reunited with their scooters:
And Mrs. CB is reunited with her Peleton:
We were pretty pleased with the final results. Here is the girls room. It’s an enormous room and serves as both their bedroom and their playroom:
Here’s our living room where we spend most of out time:
The master bedroom, still a bit sparse. But we’ll fix it up with some awesome Scando-design in short order:
Our new stuff worked so well we were able to host this smashing fika for some of Colleen’s work mates:
It’s good to have our things back in our new home. We are really lucky that Mrs. CB was able to find us such an awesome apartment. It is, without a doubt, the nicest place we have ever lived! And it has a spare bedroom… which we have not pictured because that is where we stuffed all the boxes we have yet to unpack! But if you want to drop by for a visit, we promise to clean it out.
PS
I didn’t want to leave anyone with the impression that all we have is sunshine and lovely days. We have had our share of rainy and grey days lately. And the days are getting shorter at an alarming rate - we lose about 15-20 minutes of light per day. But so far, fall is no worse than your average summer day in San Francisco. So we don’t have much to complain about.
To be continued…
I love getting a sneak peek into your awesome home! The size of the girls' room might blow C's mind. ;)
We REALLY want to check out that guest room....maybe next summer?!
Big hugs to you all, including Joy and Duncan!
I honestly love reading about your adventures on your blog Brian - the tongue in cheek humor cracks me up. Your place looks lovely and I should probably get the scoop on how an american with dual citizen ship or connection to any other foreign country picks up and moves. Ya know, in case the crackpot comes back to office and I need to get the heck outta dodge quickly. Keep on blogging! Send my best to the Cinnamon gals!
