The adventure begins

Who said blowing up you life would ever be easy? Here’s where we lived when we thought up our great adventure:

We had a great life, in a great neighborhood. But for some reason, we wanted something different. Mrs. Cinnamon Bun was raised in a military family and lived all over the world, including Korea and Copenhagen, Denmark. We always wanted to live overseas and give our two girls experience living abroad. After much discussion we decided to move to Stockholm and a new job that Mrs. C landed!

Mrs. C left six weeks before the girls and I. That means I got the job of getting the final move co-ordinated, and moving two kids, and two cats during a global pandemic! Let’s just say it wasn’t the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it made it into the finals..

Here we are on our first leg flying from Washington DC to Lisbon:

Here we are on the next leg from Lisbon to Stockholm. Because, well, you can’t fly to Stockholm direct from anywhere in the US:

And finally, Mrs. Cinnamon Bun picked us up at the airport via the superb Stockholm Taxi service. Reunited at last!

My hand might have been shaking from jet lag.

Now we live in Södermalm:

At least temporarily, our long term apartment won’t be available until July 2021.

And the cats made it without any damage whatsoever! I think they are turning Swedish:
