We successfully hosted my parents as our first official houseguests in Stockholm! It was a fantastic visit and we thoroughly enjoyed having them here. It was wonderful for the Cinnamon Sticks to have their grandparents in the house. And we really appreciated our time together. It’s shaping up to be an awesome visitor-filled summer to mark our first anniversary of living in Stockholm. And we are super excited…
My parents celebrated their 80th birthdays with us. It was our first big event of their visit and my brother arranged a private dining experience at Portal - one of our favorite restaurants in Stockholm. Here they are enjoying their party, take note of the endive appetizer, one of our favorites of the evening!
Here is our wonderful chef Ludvig and his assistant who served tantalizing dishes and drinks all evening. We got to watch them cook and enjoyed discussing food, ingredients and wine. It was a fantastic experience, highly recommended for any foodie!
And the couple who introduced us to Portal and made it all happen!
We thoroughly enjoyed our birthday celebration!
Over the course of their stay, we visited Skansen, Haga Park, Djurgården, and the infamous ABBA museum. We actually had not visited the ABBA museum before, because we wanted to share it with visitors. It was SO worth the wait!
Over Easter weekend, we brunched in Swedish style at my brother’s place on Saturday. It was lovely to celebrate with a large group. Then we hosted an Easter Sunday dinner at our apartment. We were so busy that we didn’t pause to take many pictures, but here are some favorites for you:
Overall it was a wonderful trip, we enjoyed spending quality time with Nana and GrandDave. We made some wonderful memories and can’t wait for them to return soon!
To be continued…
Love it! I hope we can get back again soon :-)
